Making Electrical Connections Safely

C. Connecting wires to GFCIs only.

1. Strip about ½" of insulation off each wire.
2. Push the wire into the back of the GFCI.
3. Tighten the screw.
4. Pull the wire to be sure the connection is secure.


Visual & mechanical checks:

1. No copper is below the device.

Note: When wiring GFCIs, attention must be given to which set of holes are used: LINE or LOAD.
